Dr. Abby O’Connor was invited to give a presentation at the Northeast Regional Meeting of the ACS, which was held from June 10-June 12 2015, at Ithaca College, in NY state. She participated in a session titled “Advances in Organometallic Chemistry and Catalysis.” The keynote speaker was Professor Alan Goldman of Rutgers. Dr. O’Connor brought chemistry majors Andrew Ruff, class of 2016, Tanya Townsend, class of 2017, and Chris Kirby, class of 2015 to the meeting. These three students presented posters the Wednesday evening poster session. Tanya and Chris received an extraordinary recognition. They received 2nd best overall poster in the undergraduate poster session. There were over 60 posters in the competition. Not only did they hear about great chemistry, but the group enjoyed hiking in beautiful upstate NY.
