On June 20, 2015, Dr. O’Connor hosted a retirement symposium to honor the work of her PhD advisor, Professor Maurice Brookhart. Dr. Brookhart is the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina and is internationally known for his work in the area of organometallic chemistry. The symposium was held in Chapel Hill, NC and about 30 former researchers of the Brookhart group, from all over the US and abroad from places including Germany and Spain, participated in the symposium. Dr. O’Connor gave one of the nine talks and discussed some of her work at TCNJ in olefin polymerization. The event was a huge success!
